Competitive Edge

What is the difference between a great idea and a viable business opportunity? Business Resource Software, Inc. of Austin Tex., thinks it has the answer. Its new software package, Quick Insight, helps you analyze the market potential of new products and services.

"By answering about 60 questions and then reviewing the resulting analysis, the user can gain a detailed understanding of the likely problems and potential strengths of the new offering," explains James E. Brawner of Business Resource.

It takes 90 minutes to go through the program. Upon completion, users print out a 55 page evaluation of their business. The software recommendations are based on the research and theories of such business gurus as Michael Porter and Philip Kotler.

Entrepreneur Jordan Glogau consulted Quick Insight before launching Web Inn. His company creates Web sites for law firms and brokerage houses in the new York area. "Quick Insight exposed some of our major problems and told us we needed to change our pricing system. The program can save you time and money. If you have a bad idea, it will not spare your feelings."
