Macro for Microsoft Word
Instructions for Downloading the macro file into the StartUp directory for Microsoft Office.
  1. Use the Right mouse button to click here to download the file.
  2. Choose the option to Save Target As. (for FireFox use: Save Link As)
  3. Choose the Startup directory for Microsoft Word:
    • (Usually) Drive C:
    • (Usually) Program Files
    • (Usually) Microsoft Office
    • (Usually) Office11 or Office12
    • (Usually) Startup
  4. Change the name of the file to VersesXP.DOT
  5. Click the Save button.

For previous versions of Microsoft Word (before 2007)
Each time you start Microsoft Word, the macro will automatically add the Transfer Verses command to the Edit menu of Microsoft Word. To use the macro, choose the Transfer Verses command (on the Edit menu of Microsoft Word).
If the macro will not run because of your security settings, choose the Options command (on the Tools menu), then click on the Security tab, then click on the Macro Security button.

For Microsoft Word 2007
Each time you start Microsoft Word, the macro will automatically add the Transfer Verses command to the Add-In tab of Microsoft Word. To use the macro, click on the Add-In tab, and choose the Transfer Verses command.
If the macro will not run because of your security settings, click on the Microsoft Office button, then click on the Word Options button, then click on Trust Center, then click on Trust Center Settings, then click on Macro Settings.
To avoid security conflicts, you may prefer to save the macro file in the Startup directory for each user (instead of the path listed above). The path to that directory is usually:
c:\users\your user name\appdata\roaming\microsoft\word\startup\

Macro for Word Perfect
Instructions for Downloading the macro file.
  1. Use the Right mouse button to select one macro file for your version of
    Word Perfect Version 10,11,12   Version 9   Version 8   Version 7   Version 6
  2. Choose the option to Save Target As.
  3. Choose the C:\BIBLE directory (or wherever you choose to put it)
  4. Click the Save button.
Guidelines for installing the Verses button onto the Word Perfect button bar are given below. Once you have completed these steps, the Verses button will always be available on the button bar any time you run Word Perfect.
  1. Start the Verse Search program,
  2. then start Word Perfect,
  3. then select the Verses button.
Guidelines for installing the Verses button onto the Word Perfect button bar:
  1. Start Word Perfect
  2. Select Settings (on the Tools menu)
  3. Click the Customize button
  4. Click on the Tool Bar that you want to edit
  5. Click on the Edit button
  6. Click on the Macros tab
  7. Click on the Add Macro button
  8. Select the downloaded macro file in the \BIBLE directory (or wherever you chose to put it).
  9. Click on the Select button
  10. You will be asked "Save Macro with Full Path?".  Select Yes.
  11. Click on the Ok button.
  12. Click on the Close button.
  13. Click on the Close button.
If your button bar is full, the down arrow button (at the right side of the button bar) will show you more buttons. The last button is the button for Verses.

  • Select Help Topics (on the Word Perfect Help menu)
  • Click on the Index tab
  • (Type in:)  Assigning
  • Double-click on Macros to a toolbar button
